Rhythm in our social lives
Thank you to all who participated in the music enjoyment surveys at our last concert. Gainesville Orchestra musician and doctoral music candidate Aaron Colverson indicated “The survey at November’s concert resulted in the majority of respondents significantly enjoyed listening to the percussion piece and most felt like physically moving to the music. Over 50 responses were recorded and over 30 for the demographics survey.”
In contrast at Romance in January the surveys will represent soothing, blissful, melodies with little to no percussion-based sounds. "These surveys are part of my dissertation project, which endeavors to understand the functions and meanings of rhythm in our social lives. In completing these surveys, you will be providing important information to better understand these phenomena" states Colverson.
January 2021 - ROMANCE
There are two surveys to complete:
1) one asking your experience listening to "Pines of Rome"; ufl.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_esaiiRsNUjaF81v
2) one gathering your demographic information (e.g., age, gender/sex-identity, musical background, etc.); ufl.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9GFXJFmkvHm7m2V
Please complete the first directly after listening to "Pines of Rome" and the second at the end of the concert.
Thank you!
